Dear Members and Prospective Members, The Guild is a group of men and women who support our symphony through volunteerism and fund raising. We celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2008 and over those years we have contributed countless volunteer hours and over $2,000,000 to our outstanding world class Greenville Symphony Orchestra. The GSO education outreach program, which we help support, takes symphonic music to schools, libraries, and concert venues to reach thousands of children and adults each year. Their Masterworks and Chamber Concerts attract an ever growing audience, enhancing the cultural and social life of Greenville as well as aiding economic development. This year our fund raising activities will include: the Tour of Homes in Montebello, October 1-3, A Whale of a Sale on November 12-13, the Black & White Ball on February 26, 2011 at the Westin Poinsett, and A Symphony of Style on April 10, 2011. Other activities where you might contribute your time and talents include: providing meals for the orchestra during rehearsals, ushering at the Michelin Children's Concerts, assisting with symphony office special projects, and hosting Guild Concert Previews. We welcome new members and new ideas, so please say yes, join in the fun, and help us enhance the Guild's support of the Greenville Symphony Orchestra. We are honored to be leading this outstanding and dedicated group and anticipate a challenging, yet successful, year as we work together to Support our Symphony! Sincerely, Jane and Ian Clarke |
